Today has been another productive one in our planning process. The leadership team met this morning via Zoom to discuss plans for services to students. The following is a list of highlights as details will be sent out from individual programs and schools.

School personnel will be following the CDC guidelines with the limiting of no more than 10 people in a gathering. However, JSD171 staff will be working each day to help provide services for our students in our communities. We are planning to provide meals to our students beginning Monday 3/23/20. There will be details sent out in the next couple of days regarding this service. Our teachers are working to provide resources for learning at home. Each school will be providing information on how this will unfold. We will be working with other entities to help gather and provide the needs of our families. We are taking this opportunity to continue our professional training for our staff and getting a jump when students return to the buildings.

I want to assure everyone that JSD171 is still very much involved with all aspects of our communities. Even though our facilities are closed, our staff is very much active in moving forward into the future.

I want to thank everyone for your support and encourage you to do your part at this time by staying home as much as possible and avoiding public gatherings. Closing the school will only be effective if everyone helps keep themselves and their kids away from groups.
