Immunizations/School Exclusions

The district has set November 24^th as the last day parents/guardians have for completing paperwork or showing proof that their students have been immunized.  Idaho Code requires parents to supply either proof of immunization or file paper work asking for an exemption.  Students for whom this has not been done will not be allowed in school starting On November 30^th.

Eighty one percent of the district’s students have all the required immunization records filed.  Four and one half percent have applied for exemptions, leaving nearly fifteen percent of students who are subject to exclusion if parents do not complete this simple task.

State wide nearly eighty six percent of students are immunized.  Parents who want to immunize their students should contact the Clearwater Valley Clinic.  Those wishing to file for exemptions need to talk to the building secretaries.

Delta Dental Grins Clinic

The Go Clinic sponsored by Delta Dental, the districts dental insurance company, was a big success on October 10.  Seventy nine percent of our students at Orofino Elementary returned permission slips for the dental sealant clinic and received screenings, sealant, and oral hygiene instruction.  Thirteen percent of the parents who returned permission slips opted to pass on the clinic.

Fifty eight percent of those students screened received one or more sealants, ninth three percent received a fluoride varnish. 

As reported by the hygienist, three students needed to see a dentist immediately and 52 students has suspected decay in one or more teeth.

District Audit

Each year the law requires that every school district has their books audited by a bonded and licensed independent auditor.  The audit for the 2014-15 school year was received by the district Board of Trustees at the regular meeting on October 19.

Copies of the audit are available at the District Office from 7:30 to 4:00 weekdays.
